First Annual Blockchain Awards at Bitcoin 2014 on Friday, 16 May produced by Local Producer Amsterdam.

(16 April 2014) — On Friday, 16 May, the Bitcoin Foundation and Blockchain.info will host the first annual Blockchain Awards at Bitcoin 2014 in Amsterdam to celebrate innovation and excellence in the Bitcoin community. The award ceremony will take place at the Main Deck of the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam.

“The foundation works hard to recognize and advocate for innovation and ingenuity across the Bitcoin community,” said Jon Matonis, Executive Director of the Bitcoin Foundation. “These awards are a unique opportunity to showcase these accomplishments and celebrate an extraordinary year for Bitcoin.”

Ten awards will be announced across a number of fields including Most Influential Investor, Most Influential Journalist and Bitcoin Champion of the Year. A full list is available at http://bitcoin2014.com/.

As of Weds, 16 April at 12pm EST, anyone will be able to submit their nominations via the nomination form. On 7 May, the Bitcoin Foundation and Blockchain.info will announce the top three finalists in each category as well as further instructions for voting for the category winner.

Blockchain.info will donate 1 BTC to each category winner, and the award will be permanently and historically written into the Block Chain as proof of ownership.
